Eva Truncova (*1996) is a Czech architect, author and curator. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Brno University of Technology. During her studies, she undertook two study internships at the School of Architecture, Design and Media at the University of Brighton (2017–2018) and the Institute for Contemporary Arts at Graz University of Technology (2020). She visited several workshops and summer schools (Porto Academy, Bauhaus Summer School, Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, ...).
As an independent architect and curator, she has been collaborating with several offices and collectives (BAM – Brno Architecture Manual, 4AM Forum for Architecture and Media, Artalk, Paradigma Ariadné, M2AU, ...).She has been the founder and curator, of a window gallery 45 000 l: Volume for Engaged Architecture under the auspices of FA BUT.
So far, her work has been oscillating between various scales, forms and media – from installations, critical writings, and interior design to experimental projects and masterplans. In general, she aims to interconnect architecture and related fields through applying theory, imagination and narration-based design processes. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the Department of Theory at the Faculty of Architecture, BUT, with the topic Authoritative regimes and architecture in the 20th century in Europe.
Eva Truncová (*1996) je architektka, autorka a kurátorka, absolventka brněnské Fakulty architektury VUT. Během studií absolvovala dvě zahraniční stáže na School of Architecture, Design and Media na University of Brighton (2017–2018) a na Institute for Contemporary Arts na Graz University of Technology (2020). Zúčastnila se několika workshopů a letních škol (Porto Academy, Bauhaus Summer School, Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, ...).
Jako nezávislá architektka a kurátorka spolupracuje, nebo spolupracovala, s různými ateliéry a kolektivy (BAM – Brněnský Architektonický manuál, 4AM Fórum pro Architekturu a Média, Artalk, Paradigma Ariadné, M2AU ...). V roce 2022 s podporou FA VUT založila a kurátoruje vitrínovou galerii 45 000 l: Objem pro angažovanou architekturu.
Její práce osciluje mezi různými měřítky, formami a médii – od instalací, kritických textů, a designu interiéru až po experimentální projekty a územní studie. Interdisciplinární přesahy a limity oboru stále objevuje skrze texty, kritické myšlení a praxe v architektonických ateliérech.
V současné době je doktorandkou na Fakultě architektury v Brně zabývající se tématem architektury jako politického fenoménu zejména v kontextu režimů minulého století.
